Motor Neurone Disease Association of South Australia
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is described by some doctors as the worst diagnosis they have to give, with no effective treatment or cure and an average life expectancy from diagnosis of only 27 months. MNDSA is the organisation that are here to take the call in South Australia when someone is diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Yet we are mainly funded through donations, fundraising, grants and bequests. We have MND Advisors and an Occupational Therapist with specialist knowledge of the disease, supporting all those impacted, helping them to live their lives, regardless of age or postcode. We not only run educational and community events, but we also provide in home, email and phone support. We have a range of equipment to assist with daily living activities and communication, provision of which can take lengthy periods through other channels. Until there’s a cure, people with MND need care.
