Multiple Sclerosis Society of SA & NT
The Multiple Sclerosis Society SA/NT is a community based not-for-profit organisation which offers a range of services to empower people with multiple sclerosis (MS) to live well, while supporting research into improved treatments, and a cure. MS is the most common chronic neurological condition affecting young adults in Australia. There are over 25,600 people living with MS in Australia, with the average age of diagnosis at 30. MS affects more women than men. The symptoms associated with MS can have a major impact on daily living, employment and families. There is currently no known cause or cure for MS, but there are a number of treatment options available to help manage symptoms and slow progression of the condition. More research still needs to be done. All money raised helps us provide essential services and supports to people living with MS in South Australia and the Northern Territory. We provide specialist health and wellness advice, social supports, and therapy services to people and their families during the early stages of diagnosis and throughout their MS journey. Money raised also helps to fund vital research into improved treatments, and the cause and cure.
